At NIMOFAN Katana, every sword is a work of art. Because our products are handcrafted with precision and care, we appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the time required to create and deliver your order.

🛠️ 1. Processing & Production Time

Unlike mass-produced items, our swords are forged by hand. The time between your order placement and shipment depends on the complexity of the craftsmanship and the size of your order:

Order Processing: We typically process verified orders within 1–3 business days.
Standard Handcrafted Katanas (Non-Custom):
- Normal Season: 7–21 days for forging and assembly.
- Peak Season (e.g., Christmas/Sales Events): Up to 45 days.
Orders with Multiple Items:
- If your order contains 2 or more swords, production time may extend (potentially up to 45 days). This depends on current inventory, material availability, and production scheduling.
Complex Craftsmanship (Non-Custom):
- For swords utilizing advanced forging techniques such as Sanmai (三枚) or Honsanmai (本三枚), the production time is approximately 2 months due to the intricate layering and polishing processes required.
Fully Custom Orders:
- Production time ranges from 3 to 4 months, depending on the specific customization requirements.

🌍 2. Shipping Destinations

Delivery availability depends on the products, full delivery address and applicable import requirements. Available delivery options are shown at checkout.

✅ We successfully ship large, sharpened Katanas to:

North America: United States, Canada.
European Union (Tax-Included): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden. Note: United Kingdom is NOT tax-included.
Other Regions (Tax Not Included): United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Australia, Japan, United Kingdom, etc.

Japan: We can ship sharpened versions to Japan. Estimated transit time after shipment is 12-15 days. Taxes, duties, and customs fees are not included unless clearly stated at checkout.

💰 3. Shipping Rates

Our prices include worldwide delivery costs, so no shipping charge is added at checkout. The total you see before payment is the total you pay.

FREE shipping to every destination we serve. Eligible swords ship free to all 35 countries listed above — no minimum order and no code.

United States: Standard Shipping (about 17–25 days) is free, and Expedited Air (about 12–20 days) is an optional paid upgrade shown at checkout. A small number of extra-long items (Nodachi, Odachi, Naginata and similar) ship Expedited only. See Section 5 for details.

All other destinations: shipping is free on eligible swords, including extra-long items. Transit times are listed in Section 5.

Eligible orders receive automatic shipping savings at checkout. No code is needed. Final shipping depends on the items, quantities and delivery address.

During the NIMOFAN Winter Sword Festival, qualifying orders may include a promotional Premium Mystery Tanto at no cost: the gift has a US$0 product price and no delivery charge. It ships together with the other items in your order and adds nothing to your delivery total. Current campaign eligibility and savings are shown at checkout.

You can decline the promotional gift in your cart before checkout. Because the gift is free, removing it does not change your order total, and adding it back does not add any charge. Your choice is retained when you refresh the cart or change item quantities. How the gift is handled in a return is explained in our Return and Refund Policy.

🧾 4. Duties, Taxes & Customs Clearance

Compliance with Local Laws: By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have verified that purchasing and importing a katana is legal in your local jurisdiction.

For destinations we serve in the United States and European Union (EU), import duties and import taxes are included. The United Kingdom is not part of the EU and is not included in this tax-inclusive arrangement. For other destinations, import duties, taxes and customs charges are your responsibility unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout. Questions? Email support@nimofan.com before ordering.

Where import duties or taxes are your responsibility under the terms above, please cooperate with customs clearance and pay those charges. If you are asked to pay an unexpected import charge for a tax-inclusive destination, contact support@nimofan.com for help before paying.

✈️ 5. Delivery Estimates & Tracking

Once your sword is crafted and shipped, the estimated transit times are:

Most Regions: 7–15 days.
Europe: 17–20 days.
Japan: 12-15 days.

Shipping is free to every destination we serve. Outside the United States there is one free delivery service per destination; transit times are listed above.

⚠️ United States — two delivery options at checkout: Due to the size and nature of our products, US orders can be shipped Standard or Expedited. Standard Shipping is free. Expedited is an optional paid upgrade shown at checkout. Extra-long items (Nodachi, Odachi, Naginata and similar) are Expedited only. Transit times below are estimates after dispatch.

✈️ Expedited Air — about 12–20 days after dispatch (paid upgrade). Different carriers are used depending on your location within the US:

East Coast & Central US:

We typically ship via SF Express.
Tracking information is generally available shortly after the package is dispatched.

West Coast UPS Orders (Zip Codes starting with 7, 8, 9):

This note applies only to West Coast orders shipped via UPS.
First stage: U.S. transit hub and customs clearance. The package usually takes 10–15 days to reach our U.S. transit hub, complete customs clearance, and have duties/taxes handled before the local carrier receives it.
Tracking updates: During this first stage, tracking may show little or no movement. Please do not worry; this is normal. Once the local carrier receives the parcel, delivery information will begin to update.
Final delivery: Local delivery usually takes 3–5 days after the carrier receives the parcel.
Total estimated time: West Coast UPS orders usually take about 13–20 days from dispatch to delivery.

🚢 Standard Shipping — FREE, about 17–25 days after dispatch. Our no-cost option, included on every eligible US order. Tracking is provided, but updates may be infrequent during transit and customs clearance; they resume once the local carrier receives the parcel.

⚠️ Understanding Your Tracking Status (EU Destinations): For orders shipped to EU destinations we serve, we utilize a specialized Tax-Included shipping line. Due to the sensitive nature of swords and the fact that we handle the customs clearance and pay the import taxes on your behalf, it is normal for tracking to appear "stagnant" or show no updates for 15–20 days after shipment.

Why the delay? Your package is first transported by our logistics partners to a transit warehouse in Italy for centralized customs clearance. The local courier (such as BRT, FedEx, DPD, UPS, etc.) will only receive and scan the package after it has arrived in Italy and successfully cleared customs.
What this means for you: This process ensures you do NOT have to pay extra duties or deal with complex customs procedures personally.
Final Delivery: Once the local tracking updates (indicating the package has left the Italy hub), delivery typically takes just 2–5 days.

📅 6. Holiday & Seasonal Delays

Please be aware that during major holidays and peak shopping seasons, both production and shipping times may be affected:

Impacted Periods: This includes the holiday shopping season (November–December) and the Lunar New Year (January/February).
Logistics Delays: During these times, global logistics networks and customs offices experience extreme volumes. This may result in unpredictable delays beyond our standard delivery estimates.
We strongly recommend placing orders well in advance during these periods to avoid disappointment.

📦 7. Delivery & Receipt

Accurate Address: Please provide a precise and complete address (no abbreviations). NIMOFAN is not responsible for non-delivery due to incorrect address details provided by the customer.
Stay Available: Please ensure the phone number provided is active. You may need to answer calls from the courier to arrange delivery or, where applicable under the duties and taxes terms above, pay duties.
Lost Packages: If your tracking shows "Delivered" but you have not received the package, please contact the local carrier immediately.
