Shipping, delivery & customs
Verified orders are usually processed in 1–3 business days. Standard handcrafted katana normally need 7–21 business days of workshop preparation before dispatch; peak periods may take longer.
Transit begins after dispatch. Most destinations take about 7–15 days, mainland Europe about 17–20 days, Japan about 12–15 days, and some US West Coast UPS routes about 13–20 days.
Shipping is calculated separately from the product price using total parcel weight and destination. EU VAT is typically included for standard packages; UK and other non-EU duties are generally not included. Swords over 1.18 m follow an oversized exception.
Returns & support
Eligible unused, non-custom items in original condition and packaging may be requested for return within 15 days of delivery. Custom products and gift cards are not returnable.
For non-quality returns, the customer covers return shipping. If an item arrives damaged or defective, contact NIMOFAN promptly with your order number and photos so the support team can review it.

Functional sword for controlled cutting practice
Performance cutting series
Built for controlled heavy cutting.
A functional cutting sword should make its strengths and its limits equally clear. Use only approved targets, keep the edge aligned, and never test a blade against metal, tools or another blade.
Target discipline
Real cutting begins with the right target.
Performance comes from matching the blade, target and technique. The published test limits for each product are the only approved reference.Approved cutting targets
Use only the bamboo and wood test targets, sizes and conditions documented for this exact product. Secure the target and keep the area clear.
Never strike these targets
Metal, wire, hangers, scissors, tools, stone, concrete and another blade can chip, roll, bend or break any sword edge.
Edge alignment
The cut lands on the edge, not the side.
Poor edge alignment creates a sideways load. Even on an approved wood target, that load can roll the edge, bend the blade or cause a chip.
- Start slowly and confirm the blade path before adding power.
- Stop if the target moves, the stand loosens or the edge angle changes.
- Inspect and clean the blade after every cutting session.
Heat-treatment evidence
Steel grade matters. Heat treatment decides the outcome.
Exact temperatures, hold times, quench details and hardness values appear only when they are tied to an approved production record for this product.- 01Controlled austenitizingThe verified process heats the steel under controlled conditions before quenching. Published numbers must match the product batch record.
- 02Oil quenchA documented oil-quench step is used to harden the blade while managing distortion and cracking risk.
- 03Double temperTwo documented tempering cycles tune the final balance of edge stability, toughness and resilience.
Breakage support
Breakage Replacement Warranty
If the blade breaks during controlled cutting on approved bamboo or clean wood targets with correct edge alignment, an eligible claim receives a replacement sword at no product charge. Metal, another blade, wire, tools, hard objects, side impact, prior damage and other misuse are excluded. Order information and clear photos or video may be required to confirm eligibility.
After the cut
Clean, dry, inspect, oil.
5160 is not stainless steel. Remove moisture and residue after use, dry the blade completely, apply a light coat of sword oil and inspect the edge and fittings before storage.Questions performance cutters ask
