Guntō – Type 98 Late-War Officer Sword | T10 Straight Hamon

We get it — “free shipping” feels good.

But that’s behavioral psychology at work.
It tricks your brain into thinking you’re saving,
when really, you're just paying in another way.
We don’t play that game.

No fake “free shipping,” no inflated prices, no marketing mind tricks.
Just honest blades, honest pricing.
Maybe it feels unfamiliar — maybe even uncomfortable.
But we believe trust is built on truth, not tactics.

More About This sword

This reproduction faithfully reflects a late-war version of the Japanese Type 98 military sword (Rikugun Guntō), crafted with simplified fittings to reflect the economic constraints Japan faced during the final years of World War II. Notably, this variant omits the traditional locking mechanism in favor of a simplified leather strap system, historically accurate for wartime expediency.

Hand-forged from high-quality T10 tool steel and clay tempered to create a prominent straight hamon (sugata), this Guntō features authentic Japanese-style polishing and finishing, including a yokote line and traditional sanmai-style three-tone polishing. The blade is housed in a sturdy iron scabbard with a wood core, and the hilt is finished with genuine rayskin and wrapped in traditional silk ito. Every element reflects the fusion of practicality and craftsmanship typical of late-war Japanese officer swords.
