This is Hana Arashi — a traditional Japanese tachi sword mounted in reverse, crafted in the spirit of ceremonial elegance. Hand-forged from folded steel with clay tempering and a visible hamon line, this tachi sword captures the historical essence of samurai prestige.
Configured in tachi mount with the edge facing downward, this blade is designed for traditional waist hanging — a key distinction from katana. The 26 cm tsuka is reversed-mounted, and the crimson lacquered saya reflects high-ranking wear in classical court and parade use.
The blade’s surface is refined using shiage togi polishing techniques, revealing both the folded steel grain and a clear yokote. This fully functional Japanese tachi is both a weapon of ceremony and a collectible object of art.
